Mere Status ka Maamla Hai

Here are a few 'Status Messages' that I had put on my Yahoo Messenger and G-talk. Most of these were sudden thoughts that descended on me while riding my bike (the much talked about YD125 which has a double cradle chassis like the RX135 and the engine of the Enticer) to office at speeds excess of 70 Kmph. A few of them are my reactions to situations which I strongly felt for, like "kya hum itne paraye ho gaye??" was because 'a very close friend' had not invited me to a party in his house etc.

Being John Malkovich, literally

Recently I watched 'Being John Malkovich' (BJM) and one scene which intrigued me the most was when JM enters into his own mind through his own portal. Presto .. he sees himself in everything, including the people, the talks, the menu.. Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich everywhere.

In CS terms, we can model this as an infinite recursion with the non-existance of a terminating point. Of course this results in stack overflow and hence no further 'function calls' are possible. At this point, we can assume that the OS takes over control and then what ? Is the OS the well discussed 'soul' thing of Hindu philosophy ? According to Vedas, one can achieve enlightenment (freedom from bondage) in two ways: (1). Moving towards emptiness- by disintegrating the mind (techniques such as Vipassana meditation) & (2). Moving towards fullness- by integrating the mind with the all pervading cosmic continum. The above scene in the movie looks closer to the second technique.

Anyways, I was thinking of a method to simulate this scene and here it goes. Assume a person sitting in front of a big, big screen (which is so big and is 3-dimensional such that the person cannot see anything else but the screen). Now assuming we are in the hold of Maya (a.k.a Matrix)this is the situation most of are in: believing the world as we see it (actually there is another explanation for the world as we see it- according to the Vedas, we see what we want; lets leave that for another post). So now coming back to our setup, there is a person in front of a real-life screen as above. Now if there is a camera capturing this scene and projecting this scene itself onto the giant screen in front of the person, we can simulate entering one's own portal. On this giant screen, the person will see himself looking at the screen; and in this 'inside' screen, the person is looking at the same thing and so on...

Heart Lines Pvt Ultd

As dawn sinks into dusk, my heart writhes with every turn

Thinking of those pearls of time we spent together
Where art the musk of those moments of laughter and fun

The times of fights and make-ups, and pranks and praise
For which i'm thankful to the divine grace
Forever I had the comfort of your solace
Where sorry and thanks had no place

The mere remembrance of you that springs cheer in my face
The mere absence of you that brings tear in my eyes
The mere thought of you that rings bell in my heart
The mere act of you that flings air in my breath

If you could only feel what i feel for you
That you're a meal for a wailing shrew
If you could only delve for how you dwell in me
That you're a petal in my destiny

With your depart i land into an abyssal gloom
But there's a hope that starts to bloom
That you'll get back to me and save my doom
We shall weave our love with the loom
And make our love into a plume

i long for you, i belong to you
i call to you, i fall to you
Dont ever leave me 'coz i revere the presence of you
My life's incomplete without the essence of you ...

The Road Trip

When the five of us met at my sisters pet-

Madison is its name which has given us all the fame

Add to it a graduation so unique that it makes others look so meek

We drove thru the rain with ameet at the rein

Never were we down, be it noon or dawn

OH what a state it is to see

The birthplace of aviation that flies high on sea

The lake with wave which makes oceans seem naive

The maid of the mist about which its hard to put in a jist

A tryst with nature that we’ll never forget, be it life or death

The American falls along with its Bride

Complimenting the Horseshoe with their pride

Being amidst families was a delight for a loner like me

That give their love and warmth like a cuppa hot tea

NY gets everyone’s envy for being the Big Apple

Where the twin towers still stand tall though reduced to a rubble

As the gaieties of a fortnight come to a close

It’s the time when we get morose

Amidst such feelings there is a thought which I reap

That I have miles to go before I sleep...

wasnt train-ed for this

"..dhadak dhadak, dhadak dhadak, dhua udaaye re ..

shit ! what a pain ...can't they keep an extra handle to hold here. i almost fell while inside the 'western-style' toilet in the speeding Udyan express. Somehow managed to flush and came out. Phew.. what a relief. Started to stretch and looked at my new Titan, it was 7.20 AM on a bright Sunday morning and the train was in the middle-of-somewhere in the rocky deccan plateau. Thought of getting some fresh air and headed for the nearest door.

"Che che .. what a fool I have been" he muttered for the second consequetive time. Startled, i looked at the man beside me..was pretty decent looking with a day-old stub on the chin, a light blue shirt with a reddish ochre scarf. "I cant believe this could happen" said he, dangerously leaning out of the door. i got curious and looked at him again. He gave me a stare with those cold black eyes which soon decided to reveal me the miseries.

man- "I have been a fool all this while !"

me- "is there a something amiss ?"

man - "look at that mountain, can you see that temple on top?"

i looked at a passing mountain but couldn't find the temple he was referring to. Pretending to be interested i asked, "ya i see it..what about it ?"

man - "I missed my destination"

me- "oh .. where were you supposed to get down ??"

man- "about 10 mins ago"

me- "hmm....dont worry, you can get down at the next one. its gonna take another 20 mins"

man- "yes thats why I'm standing here you see"

me -"i see...maybe you could relax a bit, a cuppa coffee would definitely soothe your anxiety ?"

man- "can you spot that bull there ?"

me- "what ??? i mean ..?". Some kinda wierdo this guy was turning out to be.

man- "someone stole my car and I lost my baggage too"

me- "oh poor you. is there anyway i can be of help ?"

He said something and the engine had to blow its horn at that moment. "sorry i couldnt hear you". He was keenly staring at something over my head and i turned back to look. All i could find was something written on the train. "No Smoking. Penalty upto.." bah.

This conversation was heading nowhere and moreover i started feeling sleepy. Thought of heading back to my seat. "Ok mister, take care, and good luck on finding your destination, car and your baggage". Yawn. What a bore.

man- "oh I found all of them"
me- "what ??"

The next morning paper had my photo. The head was split in half because of hitting the adjacent track with a large momentum. The man had come for my soul.

..dhadak dhadak, dhadak dhadak, mujhe bulaye re .."

Genesis !

...and the divine light dawned on me !

Yes folks, s k i finally joins the blogdom. Another brick in the wall, another writing on the wall, another shop in the mall, another tring in the call. Always wanted to start bloggin but wasnt coming up with a good name for it, but now there's no looking back....guess I found my best match ;-)

Its been a while since I did any sort of non-technical writing, the fever has become so fervent that there have to be atleast a minumum of (M/m)x(N/n) area of technical words in a screen of NxM pixels (speaking this way, maybe could have added 'another argument in the function call' above ?) .....omigod there it goes again ! Well well, relax, its not gonna be anything like this henceforth and its the beginning of the end.

The end. Let my first blog be as-light-as-possible and as-bright-as-impossible...
